Information
The eight states of North East India are blessed with scenic natural
beauty, salubrious weather, rich biodiversity, rare wild life,
historical sites, distinct cultural and ethnic heritage and warm and
welcoming people. The region offers unforgettable visits for tourists
interested in wild life, religious, cultural and ethnic tourism, river
cruises, golf and a host of others. There is also great scope for
mountaineering, trekking and adventure tourism in the region.
The months starting from March to June are considered to be the best time to visit North East.
Schedule
Day 1: NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport – Gangtok (120 kms / 5 hrs)
Upon arrival at NJP Railway station / Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by a local driver, who will transfer you to your hotel in Gangtok (5,500 ft.). After reaching the hotel, check in and the rest of the day is free on your own. Overnight at your hotel in Gangtok.
Day 2: Gangtok – Tour to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir
After breakfast, proceed for a full day excursion to Changu (Tsomgo) Lake which is 35 Kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains. Later, visit Baba Mandir (55km from Gangtok) situated at an altitude of 13200feet. . Overnight at your hotel in Gangtok.
(In case of any natural calamity or any other reason, if Tsomgo Lake is closed, then we will arrange alternate sightseeing.)
Day 3: Gangtok – Darjeeling (100 kms / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, checkout from your hotel and transfer to Darjeeling (6,950 ft.). Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Darjeeling.
Day 4: Darjeeling Sightseeing
Early morning (4:00 AM) proceed for Tiger Hill (Subject to availability of Permit / Token). Later, return back to hotel in time for breakfast. Post breakfast, proceed for local Darjeeling sightseeing. Visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute(Thursday Closed), P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Ropeway(tickets on own), Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Japanese Temple, Ghoom Monastery, Batasia loop. The evening is free on your own to explore Darjeeling. Overnight at your hotel in Darjeeling.
(Sometimes, Tiger Hill Permit is granted for evening sunset view. In that case the Tiger hill excursion would be arranged after the local sightseeing tour)
Day 5: Darjeeling – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra airport (75 kms / 3 hrs)
After breakfast, checkout from your hotel and transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for your return journey.
